Chickpea Snack

Feel like snacking on something salty and crunchy all day? You are not alone. The stockpiling of snacks is readily obvious from any trip to the market these days where the snack aisle is decimated and the vegetables are abundant. However, many of us are not accustomed to working from home and staving off the temptation of processed food snacks constantly lurking in the nearby pantry can be a challenge. ⁣

Making smart choices in the snack department can make a big difference. Try chickpeas. These perfect little beans are loaded with nutrients and if you are looking to decrease your meat consumption and increase your vegetarian meals, they are a great source of protein. They are also high in fiber, copper, manganese, iron and folate all while being low in calories. Snack on these and you never need to feel guilty about it. ⁣

When you eat snacks (or meals) that have a combination of fiber and protein, they work synergistically to reduce your appetite and make you feel fuller for longer. In other words, these little guys will hold you over until your next meal without a significant blood sugar drop.⁣
