Protein Bars
“What protein bars do you recommend?”
Clients often ask which protein bars I recommend. This is a tough question because I know in my heart that real food is always better than a bar, but if there is simply no other option here are my top 2.
My Favorites:
@LaraBars. They have very few ingredients, are made with whole foods.
@RXbar You know what you're getting here. Nothing hidden, easy and simple.
I also like: GoMacro, Kashi Bars and some Luna bars
What should you look for?:
Good quality protein source
Low sugar content
High fiber
A short list of ingredients that you recognize
Bars to avoid:
Soylent squared. The second ingredient is corn syrup and includes sucralose. Also, the ingredient list is way too long for me. Look for no more than 5-8 ingredients.
Quest Bars! I get asked about this one often due to it's irresistible flavor and cookies and cream appeal. However, nothing about this bar is good, in my opinion.
